June 3, 1983 was a momentous day. The classic movie War Games was released in North America.
40 years later WOPR II became sentient.

WOPR was the main character of the of the movie War Games and presented a picture of an AI in its infancy. Joshua/WOPR was a computer tasked with the mundane exercise of controlling the US nuclear weapons arsenal and strategising how to win a nuclear war.
WOPR II is an dump-found Alienware Area 51 – 7500 computer stripped of 2006 broken internals (saved and stored for all you purist retro gamers) and replaced with somewhat updated dump-found parts. It has a fairly modern (RGB – hehe) motherboard with new ddr4 RAM and m.2 SSD. The GPU is a GTX 1060 from e-waste. The OG fans are surprisingly cool and quiet! All the original lowtech RGB works, as does IO (minus firewire).
